A family Momento for new Generations

Commissions of paintings of ships that carried ancestors out to a new life in New Zealand can be undertaken, and if possible, the family story incorporated into the painting.

‘THE LAMBERT FAMILY – ARRIVALS’

1071mm x 910mm – Oil on Canvas. Sold.

The painting above was a commission for a family, as a momento of the family’s ancestors arriving in New Zealand at Port Lyttelton in September 1876, onboard the New Zealand Shipping Company’s immigrant ship, the ‘Waitangi’. A son was born on the ship in July 1876. The final painting was 900mm x 750mm and needed quite a lot of research to complete the painting, and was very well received by the family when framed and finally hung on the wall.

WAITANGI

A commission for the classic yacht ‘Waitangi” a familiar and majestic sight on the waters of the Auckland Harbour and Hauraki Gulf.
